This rare vase was hand thrown and decorated by South African Studio Art Pottery “The Old Jar Pottery” which existed in Benoni and closed down in 1984

It consists of a tea cup designed in the Malvern shape together with the matching saucer

generally a mark used by a variety of cutlers which flourished in the Sheffield area around the 1940’s to 1960’s and were eventually taken over by the larger and more popular cutlers such as Mappin & Webb etc

but the spoon is in good condition and beautiful

This item is a Royal Standard tea trio consisting of a footed cup a saucer and a tea plate in the Mandarin pattern. Pink, blue, green, purple and mustard florals and scroll on a crisp white background with gold trim. The items are stamped underneath Royal Standard Fine Bone
