A huge druzy sparkly calcite crystal sits nestled in the amethyst points of this sphere. The colour saturation within the amethyst is beautiful and there is no matrix. In fact, the underside of the piece has some calcite too. The calcite extends over the amethyst points. I have added a photo of the crystal under UV light, the calcite also fluoresces pink!
