As a long time rod builder the experiment that I would be interested in seeing would be how guide diameter effects casting distance with both types of line
I use 12 lb for salmon w/6 or 8 lb leader( same type as main line ) and 17 lb for lake trout w/12 or 14 lb leader
This makes sense if you are only fishing at shorter ranges and your spool capacity is large
This isn't to knock any of these brands, it's just a reality when people are trying to go on a fishing trip fairly soon, or pick out a birthday present, or anything like that
